⚠️VERY LONG⚠️
I was going to put this in the Multiplicity and Plurality Fandom , but not many people check that forum.
Hey, Milo here. I came to front a little over 15 minutes ago, and very quickly found the Multiplicity fandom due to one of Benny's friends. I found out a lot about endogenic systems, and here's my personal opinion.
Are they real? Absolutely 100% Should they use DID, OSDD, and etc, terminology? Maybe not. I'm not opposed to it, but I also don't think it's quite right.
DID, I'll use this disorder as the example since we have it and it's more commonly known to us than OSDD, is a disorder that causes traumagenic systems. Reason being, the personality of the body and mind was fractured at or before ages 6-9 continuously, causing the brain to barrier and split the personality into multiple personalities, or alters, to protect itself, and the brain. This causes the alters to have their own, memories, names, skills, ages, genders, and more specific personality types. However, alters are not essentially other people inside your head/brain, but fragments of (possibly less than) one personality that was unable to develope properly.
Endogenic systems are systems derived, typically, by natural development, forgotten trauma due to inner amnesia, and/or religious beliefs. These systems are made of Others, essentially other people in the mind/body, they don't always "front" like a DID system, they could just be in the "headspace."
Endogenic systems are not made to describe plurality, but simply put, other people sharing the, mind, brain, and sometimes body (I think). DID systems are made of personality fragments which share the body.
Now, I may have missed something, if I did please let me know.
Some optional terminology for endogenic systems. Again, as someone with DID, I don't really see the problem with them using traumagenic terminology, but here's some options for them just in case:
System = Cloud room (it sounds cozy, warm, and soft. I think it's cute)
Ex. "There's 16 alters in the system" = "There's 16 others in the cloud room"
Alters = others
Example above.
Headspace = brainspace
Ex. "We share the same headspace." = "We share the same brainspace."
Headmates = brain buddies
Ex. "Our headmates are very nice." = "Our brain buddies are very nice."
