is it baloney or bologna
is it baloney or bologna
Americans are weird. Arkansas is pronounced arkansaw.
IKR its ar-kansas
Bologna is the formal name and Baloney is informal. They are both pronounced Baloney.
Also, why name things like
Mississippi
Twinkies
Soda Vs. coke Vs. pop
Crawfish/Crayfish/Crawdads
Lightning bug/firefly
"Brownie points" means an imaginary prize for someone who does something good
"Bang for your buck" means more excitement for your money
We have different names for the grades in high school (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior)
Z is pronounced "Zee" just because "Zed" didn't rhyme with the rest of the letters)
Color vs. Colour (a lot of words were shortened like this because the press needed to use less letters in the newspapers so making them would cost less)
"Jon Hancock" means signature
"The whole nine yards" means to go all the way with something or you want all of something
"touch base" means to get in touch with someone
"heads up" means to warn someone of something
"Take a rain check" means to politely refuse to do something, often to do it later.
"easy as pie" means something is extremely easy (despite th fact that pie is actually kind of hard to make properly)
Yes, I assure you Americans that these are American phrases and words, even if they only started in America. (btw I'm American too)
Why cant we be like the rest of the world and spell "colour" and "favourite" correctly
AMERICA SUCKS
I defy American English, I say "colour" and "favourite" and "grey" and say z as "zed" and all that jazz
I never knew z was pronounced "zed" AHHHH %^&*
