I agree with you. Linking a suicide hotline and locking the post does not necessarily help user(s). It silences them from the struggles that they are facing

Not everyone has access to professional help. They may even be restricted from doing do for various reasons

I know personally for me, when there’s a lot of negative s***ide posts, even when I don’t read them, it makes my mental health a lot worse and makes me not feel as safe on the wiki. I’m not saying that my mental health is more important than people getting the help they need if they’re suicidal, but I am saying that I think posting about it so publicly isn’t always best because of how triggering it can be and how it can just hurt the community as a whole. Idk. Like I said, whatever makes other people feel safest is what I’ll support, this is just how I feel about it. I don’t mean to invalidate anyone
@Reign of the breadsticcs i already responded to your comment on the other thread, but i'll respond to this one too. People have an option to read the vents. there are trigger warnings for a reason. Public venting can help sometimes. Youve probably heard a song about suicide on the radio before. That's public venting and its there for a reason. Because it HELPS. it lets you know you've been heard.
I'm just glad that we still have some mods and admins that actually are trying to help-
Like, it's pretty encouraging to see someone try to actually fix a problem when there are so many that are just trying to ignore it.

It just makes me sad, because this wiki is supposed to be a family, and it's just so hurtful sometimes. Actually, that's pretty much a family.
I feel bad saying something but I just have too.
Some users may feel pressure to hell that person when they have nothing to say. Reign let's us message their wall.
I see how it is important to fully support people.
But sometimes, I truly think we need to talk to the person in private.
At this point, I am not for nor against locking such posts.

@Stitchy0 okay, that's very understandable. thank you. i now support this more. i never intended to silence people or make it feel like their problems should be ignored, and I apologize to anyone I made feel like I was. But I still do think s***ide posts should be monitored closely, and resources should still be provided for people in case they do have access to online professional help. but i know how much venting can help, and i'd never wish to take that away from anyone. from now on, I won't lock posts like that, but I still will provide resources along with continual support and monitor the situation as best as I can so that the person is as safe as possible in this environment. thank you /gen
Tw \ @Region of the breadsticcs , I accept your apology . Ask for me and my alters dont want the help line number. I rather talk to friends on here who I Trust then talk to a stranger. \gen - Alter Angel
@Hayden000 understandable.
What do you think?
