I'm thinking there should be a more official harassment guide, because yesterday we were all unprepared and scrambling a bit. I know personally I was scrambling back and forth between checking mw activity, discussions, reported posts, and everything in general, and it was stressful. I'm thinking of making a blog post outlining plans for future harassment. My ideas are
If the troll is only a one-time troll (meaning they haven't made alts and don't seem to be) then simply reporting and blocking them. If mods are not on, report and leave us messages letting us know about the troll
If they are a returning troll, but they are not extreme or heavily harmful, then we can have different mods looking through different things, for example, one mod looking through message wall activity, another through reported posts, another through article comments, and another through discussions- but due to the troll not being that bad, it's not necessary to lock all posts
If it gets to be like the situation we've had over the past few days, including the continued direct message wall harassment, an admin should turn off message wall communications, and additionally we do what I saidi n number 2, have different mods keeping track of different things, and admins dealing with the blocking, and additionally, all new posts will be locked.
These are just my ideas but since as a community we are much more harassment-prone due to being an LGBTA community, it's necessary to be more prepared. We all did amazing yesterday but it was stressful for everyone, especially the mods because it had never really been that bad before so we were all kind of coming up with the best solutions on the spot, and it's not fair or helpful to have us or anyone in that situation.
