recently, it's been brought to our attention that many people on tumblr have a lot of issues with the wiki and how we run things (mainly how we allow misinformation to slip through).
so, now, guidelines have been updated. when making a page for a term that wasn't coined on this wiki, resources are 100% necessary. Otherwise, we have no way of verifying any of the information on the page, and we therefore run the risk of violating the integrity of the original coiner and spreading misinformation. If you make a page for which no resources can be located after searching, your page will be deleted.
if you are making a page for a term coined on this wiki, you need to link either the blog post, discussions post, or article comment where the term/term idea/flag was coined/designed. if the page itself is the coining of the term, mention that in the page. say something like "this page is the original source of the term.
if you make a page for a term and provide resources, and it is found that you changed someone's definition without their permission, you will get a warning, and if you do it again, you may be banned. misinformation is never okay, even if done accidentally (though it's forgivable then). but explicitly changing someone's term without permission is never okay. don't do it, for any reason. you may change the phrasing of the definition to make it more proper to fit style guidelines, but do not add, subtract, or actually change information about the term. just please- when you make a page, either provide resources, or state how the page is the original source of the term. if you know there are sources but can't find them, that's okay, contact a mod and we'll help. but if there are no resources to be found the page will be deleted.
please, please, please do not ignore these guidelines. as mods it's our job to make sure the wiki as a whole is accurate, but it would be impossibly overwhelming to go through each and every page to make sure all information was accurate, so please please, do your duty as a member of the wiki, and never create pages that can't be verified through resources you provide, and never ever change any definition.
additionally, if the only available resources are screenshots, that is okay. please insert them in a gallery in the resources section as resources.
