So, kind of a continuation of this: https://lgbta.wikia.org/f/p/4400000000000180803
About three weeks ago, I had responded with "I wouldn't call it annoying to me or the people around me. I believe in accepting voices as they are. Annoyance around dysfluency stems from ableism and a lack of understanding." There was more to the comment, but it was answering a separate question. Anyway, for the most part, others seemed to agree with me, but a few minutes ago, someone new replied to me. It was some person who said they have a "kid that stutters." They said it's not ableist, and that they lose their patience with their child because of his stutter a lot. They also described him as "obnoxious" for being autistic (although they used a misspelling of an outdated term), and for having echolalia and dysphagia (this was misspelt as well). Their comment ended with, "Ableism is the d*mbest idea ever."
Why can't I just be left alone? Who cares about stutters? They're just another way of speaking. I'm so tired of my disability being treated like some absolute hindrance. Just let me exist.
