i do not intend to argue over what falls under certain identities or not, however might i politely ask something to people who use a certain phrase in specific?
please stop using 'non-men/women loving non-men/women' to describe certain orientations!
it's hurtful towards multigender people who identify as boy or girl genders and resonate with seeing themselves as such. personally, it'd be preferred if you specified which genders love which and NOT which genders can't fall under this! multigender identities fall under the non-binary umbrella and i know this, plus i'm aware 'non-men/women' means the binary identity, however that is pretty vague! i can identify with feeling like a man/woman or boy or girl and still be non-binary! and every other non-binary person who also resonates with that is free to as well (multigender or not)!
it is very easy to just specify which genders loving which fall under an orientation. 'non-(gender) loving non-(gender)' has the potential to ignore a certain gender a multigender person identifies as and that can be hurtful. though instead by saying '(gender) loving (gender)' you can choose to include us!
(in short: please don't use 'non-(gender) loving non-(gender)' to describe orientations. it can be hurtful towards multigender and other non-binary people as it ignores a part of our identities.)
this is simply a polite request as someone who is tired of seeing the phrasing thrown around all the time. /nm would appreciate it!
i also do not post often so if there is anything i misunderstood/did wrong then apologies and please tell me :}
